lowball
Lowball is a style of poker player in which the value of the hands are reversed in terms of value. The higher valued hands are now the losing hands and the lower valued hands are the winning hands.
There are several variants of lowball distinguished primarily by whether straights and flushes are considered or ignored.
The most common form is ace-to-five low in which the cards 5-4-3-2-A are the best hand. In this form straights and flushes have no meaning.
Deuce-to-seven is the form which is nearly the exact opposite of traditional poker. Flushes and straights are high hands, and thus bad. Aces are however always considered high.
Ace-to-six low is a more common opposite to traditional poker. In this case the ace is a low card but straights and flushes do count (as high, thus bad, hands).
