Rakeback is a money that players collect back from the collected rake. Player's with a rakeback deal will collect a percentage of the rake at the table's they play on a weekly or monthly basis.
Such offers are made by third parties to the poker room and tend to require a new signup in order to take advantage of the deal. Each online poker system has their own particular method of calculating the rakeback and deciding when it can be paid. For regular players this can add up to a significant portion of their income.
Rakeback is offered as an incentive to have prolific players come to one site, or not to switch to another site.
In addition to rakeback is a another system call props which is very similar but has certain rules about what tables a player may play. In such a system the player is encouraged to play at tables with few players, or start new tables, to ensure a good selection of tables for people without such a deal.
