Tables stakes is a rule regarding how players add and remove money from the table. Each player beings a given deal with a certain amount of money at the table. During that round they may not add or remove money from the table.

Further to this is a rule that generally prohibits people from removing any money from the table at all. A player may buy more chips, or bring more money in, in between rounds, but it is generally disallowed to take money off the table. The only exception of course if the player decides to leave in which case they take all of their money with them.
