bring-in
In stud, and other games, the bring-in is a forced bet to the player with the lowest hand after the initial deal. In Omaha the term bring-in is also used to refer to a minimum bet during the first round. The next action is to the left of the player who has the bring-in.
Stud
In seven card stud a bring-in is required as the opening action in the first round of betting. The player who has the lowest up card must put the bring-in amount into the pot. They can optionally bet more than this depending on the betting limits. In fixed limits they may only choose to complete the bet.
This is a mandatory bet similar to the blinds in hold'em.
Omaha
In PLO Omaha it is common to see a minimum bet enforced during the first round of betting. That is, after the blinds, the first player to act must bet at least the bring-in amount.
For example, $1-$2-$5 indicates a $1 small blind, $2 big blind and a bring-in of $5.
