Small ball is the name of a playing strategy which in involves playing a lot of hands. It is often promoted by Daniel Negreanu as a way to play Texas Hold'em.

A small ball player would play a lot of marginal hands. by making smaller than normal bets on those hands. One of the goals of this style is to get a maniacal table image and make it easier to lure opponents into good hands.
