Chop usually means to split the pot. In a heads-up all-in situation a player will often hope for a chopped pot if the hands are of roughly equal value.

Though not common, and not available in most online play, a chop request can also be agreed to by the remaining players. That is, rather than seeing the remaining cards the players agree to split the pot.
