miss the flop

A player who has made no improvement to their hand on the flop is said to have missed the flop. This at least means the player has formed no pair, but may also mean they have no drawing hand either. In cases such as the latter, where a player has effectively zero chance of winning, the player may be said to have completely missed the flop.

Robyn is holding J♦ T♦ and the flop comes up K♥ 2♣ 3♣. She missed the flop: no pair, no straight nor flush draw, not even an overcard.
