A deck is set of cards for playing poker. The standard poker deck contains 52 cards with some game variants including two jokers to be used as a bugs or wildcards.

The cards in a standard deck have the ranks 2 through 10, Jack, King, Queen, and Ace. Each card may be one of four suits.

The above is an ace of spades, king of hearts, eight of diamonds, and three of clubs. It is a common convention to refer to the card in the form rank of suit.
