Micro limits refer to ring games that have a very low betting limit. In many online poker rooms the micro limits are limits from $0.01 thru to $0.50, though some start to designate $0.25 and up as low limits instead.

These micro limits tables, as they buy-ins are quite small in absolute terms, encourage a greater range of excessive and ludicrous poker behaviour. This is however not to say that they are easy tables, nor that higher limits somehow encourage rational behaviour.
