The small blind is the player immediately left of the dealer in Texas Hold'em and Omaha. The small blind is required to make a forced bet, typically half the size of the big blind.

Before the flop this player acts second to last, before the big blind. After the flop this player, or the nearest player to the left should they have folded, acts first until the hand is complete.
