straight draw

A straight draw is a drawing hand which has an out which would complete the straight.

An open ended straight draw can be completed by adding a card to either end of the straight. For example 5♥ 6♣ 7♦ 8♥ can make a straight with either a four or a nine.

An inside straight draw, or gut shot, is a straight draw with a hole in the middle of the sequence. For example 5♥ 6♣ 8♣ 9♦ can only be completed by filling in the seven in the middle.

A double gut shot is a set of five or more cards in which two different ranks could complete a draw. For example 5♥ 6♣ 7♦ 8♣ T♠ can be completed by either a four or nine.
